Hi everyone. I'm taking a little break from TLM to concentrate on working up some samples for Doctor Who magaazine (and you can check my progress at my sketch blog, here), so there won't be any new pages up here for a while. But fret not: TLM will be back in one month - just in time for Christmas!

The idea was that I was going to change the name of the Last-Minuters at, er, the last minute. I guess I was a little fed up with the logo or *something*. Anyway, I previewed my alternative title (The Zeros, or Alice and the Zeros) and, well... feedback not so good. So I've had a think about it and I might go back to the old title, with a new logo. Yes, I *am* exciting. How did you guess?

Anyway, have a look at groovy funky page 13!

Why the weird post title? Cos I'm changing the name of my comic VERY SOON. Just as soon as I've got a logo and what-have-you sorted out. Keep em peeled guys.

In the meantime, check out page 12. For the art nerds out there, this saw me trying out a few new things: different bristol board (slightly coarser and thinner than the old stuff) pen/brush/ink instead of marker pens and a different font for the lettering. I think it looks a little rough in places but nice.

Criticism appreciated as always - I'm *literally* all ears over here.

I'm trying out a little something new with the grey-shading: something a bit, I dunno, warmer. Anyway, let me know what you think. I'm pretty pleased with this page - it's the most "comic booky" so far for my money.

Still no sign of page four BUT I thought I'd ask y'all for some feedback on the following. I'm planning on submitting some pages to Warpton Studios (an UK-based comics publisher, if you can believe it), but would like to send them black and whites as I'm not exactly crash-hot on the colours yet. Anyway, I've spent today re-tooling two of the original inked pages to make them more suitable as a black and white comic. They're below - what do you lot think?

Meet the Gang (part one)

This is ALISON HARPER

...she's our point of view character. She's funny, quirky, clever, insecure. Nice gal. She's a PR, but don't hold that against her. Up till now she's dealt with low-rent sportsmen and bottom-rung celebrities. She's about to start working at Powers That Be Inc, which is the promotional agency for the superhero set. She has no idea what she's let herself in for.

Here's her first big client: Reginald Thorpe, AKA SKY-KNIGHT

He should be the coolest superhero out there: he flies a fantastically souped-up biplane called Tempus Fugit and following a sorty against a German pilot during WWI, was granted eternal life and the sword Excalibur, from myth. He went on to become a hero, and was considered by many to be the greatest fighter pilot of WWI. And that's just the problem, he was the greatest, and he can't quite leave those halcyon days behind. As a result, he spends most of his time impersonating a washed up nobody, who hangs around the George and Dragon - a shabbily-appointed "English" pub in the worst part of The City - like a bad smell, and occasionally threatens to smite his landlord using his magic sword.

To make ends meet he works as a janitor, and uses a magically altered Excalibur as a mop. But he's grown to hate his pale excuse for a life and so, fed up of smelling faintly of beef and having no money, he's decided to sign himself up with PTB Ltd. Maybe it's not too late for this old warhorse - maybe he can convince the world that there's a place in the 21st Century for gallantry and moustaches. But he'll need help - and that's where Ms. Harper comes in...

But Powers That Be Ltd. believes in making the most of their employees, and Alison quickly finds she has more than one difficult customer on her books...

But who are The Last-Minuters...?

This is the blog for my forthcoming comic strip The Last-Minuters. It's going to be funny, lavish and exciting - and free! The plan is to post a page a week on the site from the end of June - maybe more if the wind is behind me. Eventually I'm looking at getting this onto a website of its own (and I'm even considering going down the traditional publishing route - but let's not get ahead of ourselves...), but in the meantime the pages will be published here for you to read.

If you like what you see, let me know. If you don't like what you see, you can let me know as well. Just, um, use nicer language.
